Support Our Work

The Powell River Orphaned Wildlife Society is a non-profit, charitable organization. We rely on your donations to keep our patients fed and our medical supplies stocked.

Right now, in 2023, we are in urgent need of your support. Help fund our nature-driven and science-based organization today!

Five great reasons to support us >

Five great reasons to support us today!

1

We provide multi-disciplinary medical and scientific expertise to our remote, water-access community. A member of the Wildlife Rehabilitator’s Network of BC, PROWLS works hand-in-hand with researchers, veterinarians, scientists and conservation services to provide specialized local care of many diverse species. We need your help to continue providing this very specialized service to our community.

2

We keep our injured and orphaned wildlife in Powell River. PROWLS has the skills and the people to keep many more animals here, where they can be released locally to support the overall health and diversity of our local animal populations. We need your help to expand the capacity of our facility.

3

We provide volunteer opportunities and employment for young people interested in gaining experience in the innovative fields of wildlife biology and coastal ecology. With your support, we will be able to foster many more opportunities in partnership with the Federal Youth Employment Grant.

4

We engage our community with stories and resources, connecting people with practical ways to preserve and protect our local wild species. With your support, we can offer community workshops and presentations to local schools, our library, and other community organizations and businesses.

5

Timing is everything! We are in the midst of an important phase of growth. You contribution will help us expand our facility and our volunteer-base and offer services and resources for our community that are on par with other wildlife rehabilitators in BC.
